From East Texas. Lived in Houston/Katy for the past 11 years during which time I was a safety manager for a offshore drilling company. I'm at retirement age but am re-tiring with a new set of tires to keep working for the next 11 years or more. In a previous company (where I also worked 11 years) I was a driller in the North Sea where I almost froze to death. My rig was slammed by a monster wave during a storm. All lifeboats were washed away so we had to evacuate by chopper. In Aberdeen I was offered a training job....and that's what I've been doing ever since...combined with a lot of safety management. I was a training instructor in the South of France, Nigeria, West Africa, Lafayette, La, Jackson, Mississippi and on lots of drilling rigs. My wife of 35 years passed away 4 years ago but before going she told me to get remarried and be happy.....so I did. God sent me Jane.....so now I am Tarzan swinging on the vines. Before getting into the drilling business, I was in a religious cult.....although I grew up in denominational churches. Was liberated when I saw the hypocracy of the leadership. I was a newspaper reporter at the time so I could verify what was coming out in the press about that group. The good news is: it is the only cult in America which has renounced its cultic doctrine and gone main-line christian....according to a christian magazine. A lot of prayer went into that transformation. A cult can be mind bending and it took me some time to get the poison out of me....but thank God I'm free and have been very active in churches and christian work in general for the past few decades. I sing with guitar at nursing homes, have done street witnessing in France and Israel and have taught a lot on what a cult is and what makes a group a cult. Interesting thing about cults is that about 80 percent of their membership come from main-line christian churches.
