The gun debate- is there a middle ground?

Few of us listen anymore.

We hold fast to our ideas to regurgitate them, not really willing to open up for a real discussion of ideas and solutions.

Do yourself and society a favor, stop choosing sides of issues, stop the personal attacks, and lets find the issues in the middle that share that we can build on. 

We are focusing on the gun debate with this premise.
