King Saul Spoils his Big Opportunity and You (1 Samuel 13)

After reigning as king for two years, King Saul takes an action which demonstrates a lack of reverence for God and blatant disobedient of God's commands. God lets him know that he could have been the first of the kings to reign forever but instead he would lose his throne. Not to be flippant, but that's gotta hurt. 

I actually believe that many of us do miss out on amazing opportunities without perhaps even realizing what we've given up but choosing to compromise or by ignoring the still, small voice of God.
