"I began my amazing healing journey in 2004 at the age of 36.  One late night after finding out the man I was dating was married, I looked at myself in the mirror and asked myself "what the hell is wrong with me?".  When I realized that "I" was my problem not everyone else, a major shift began in my life. Prior to this revelation was a checkered past consisting of rape, abortion, drug abuse, self loathing, suicide attempts, promiscuity and 2 divorces. I was a single mom for many years.  I lost my father suddenly when I was pregnant with my youngest son when I was 26, and lost my baby sister last summer.

I began behavioral therapy shortly after my bathroom "ah ha" moment. We began using EMDR to word through past hurts and reprocess them. During these treatments memories of sexual abuse emerged. I spent the next 5 years in therapy trying to overcome my "Victim" status that I had become so familiar with. (bio continued on LE facebook wall, http://www.facebook.com/living.empowered)
