A conversation with ESPN Founder Bill Rasmussen

Bill Rasmussen founded ESPN in September of 1979 and at the time sponsors, cable companies, college and sports leagues thought he was crazy. “Who in their right mind would want to watch sports on television 24 hours a day seven days a week?” was something Rasmussen heard way too many times when he was building his little network.

But over time Rasmussen was able to show the world that not only did the sports fans want a channel like ESPN they wanted more. In this edition of The Sunshine Boys podcast Joe Henderson, Ira Kaufman, and Jim Williams talk to Rasmussen about his challenge to change the way sports fans worldwide would watch sports forever.
