SummerFest

Our guests this morning are Chef Michael Shafer, Laurie Latham Brandt, members of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce.

Chef Shafer will host the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Summer Fest event for the second year running. Besides being the owner and chef of the Depot, Michael Shafer has raised millions of dollars for a wide variety of charities. He personally hosts two events a year, one for Pediatric Therapy Network and one for Scott Newman Center to support drug prevention through education. Each event raises over $100,000 a year.  In addition, 

Laurie Latham Brand is the owner of Red Car Brewery and Restaurant, Immediate Past Chair of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and sits on the Summer Fest Committee. She has been involved with the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce for many years, and is also an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Torrance, volunteering her time for a variety of causes in the community.
So this morning, we’re going to get all the details on SummerFest taking place on Sunday, August 12 from 4 to 9 p.m. in front of the Depot Restaurant.
