South Bay Business Leader’s Summit with Dr. Wanda Austin

Our guests this morning are Dr. Wanda Austin and Mark Lipps from this year’s South Bay Business Leader’s Summit.

Dr. Wanda Austin is an American businesswoman internationally recognized for her work in aeronautics and systems engineering. She is a systems engineering, leadership development consultant, motivational speaker and co-founder of MakingSpace, Inc. 

Growing up in New York City, Dr. Austin attended The Bronx High School of Science, earned a B.A. in mathematics from Franklin & Marshall College, M.S. degrees in systems engineering and mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Ph.D. in systems engineering from the University of Southern California.

Dr. Austin is committed to inspiring the next generation to study the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) disciplines and to focus on careers in science and engineering.

Mark Lipps is a 20+ year resident of Manhattan Beach. He is a parent, dog and tortoise owner, homeowner and husband of Tammy Lipps, Chef/Owner of The Ripe Choice, a local catering business. Mark worked for 30 years in the TV industry and was an executive with Fox Broadcasting for 18 years.

Dr. Austin is the Closing Keynote Speaker at the 2017 South Bay Business Leader’s Summit, which takes place on Tuesday, May 9 at the Manhattan Beach Marriot, and will speak on Strategic Leadership for a Complex World.
