Our guest this morning is Neil Campbell, Founder & Director of the Common Sense Surf Company.
Neil has a BA in Film & Media from Griffith University, Diplomas in Acting and Cinematography, a Grad Diploma in TESOL and is 3 units short of a Masters in Media Practice at the University of Sydney. He lived and worked as a teacher in Korea throughout 1994, then as a cameraman in a wide variety of mostly live sports and entertainment in the UK for 15 years until returning to Australia in 2010. Neil plays bagpipes, often without invitation or permission.
Neil moved to South Australia from Sydney in June 2015 and has devoted the subsequent 16 months to the development of Chillax. He has a passion to put what he regards as the ‘unnecessary nonsense of surfers’ universal vulnerability to attacks by sharks behind us’. This idea that had been in his head since he was a nipper - ‘Stop smelling like shark food, Dummy!’ So after years of chasing his cinematography dream, he decided, this was it. Hence, Chillax.
