Our guests this morning are Cary Alpert and Greg Aden of South Bay Wheelmen and Board Members of the Manhattan Beach Grand Prix.

Cary Alpert served on the board of South Bay Wheelmen starting in 2001 and was president from 2008 to 2011. He raced in the Chevron Manhattan Beach Grand Prix multiple times during the 2000s since moving back to Southern California from Texas in 1999. Cary worked for GTE/Verizon for 32 years, retiring in 2003, spending his entire career in Information Management/Technology. Cary is a native Angeleno, is married and has three children. He is proud to be working for the Grand Prix and would like to thank Chevron and Manhattan Beach for their incredible support in helping the race reach its 55th running this year.

Greg Aden has been a member of South Bay Wheelmen since 1995 and has been on the MBGP race committee since 1997. He is a USA Cycling Category A race official and this is his fourth year as the MBGP Race Director. Greg is a retired Western Division Director of Engineering and Operations for Cushman & Wakefield. He lives in Hermosa Beach, is married with two grown sons.

This morning, Cary and Greg will explain what attendees can expect at the Gran Prix this year, which will take place on Sunday, August 7 beginning at 7 a.m. at Live Oak Park in Manhattan Beach.
