Our guest this morning is Orlando Mule of the new restaurant Orlando’s Pizzeria & Birreria Ristorante located in Redondo Beach.

From a young age Orlando loved to watch people prepare food.  His Italian grandmother, his mom and the chefs that worked at his family restaurant inspired him and made him eager to start cooking. 

Orlando’s father was a butcher and owned a family butcher shop/Italian grocery store. Later, he opened two restaurants Orlando le Roi du Sous-Marin and Trattoria del Buon Gustaio. Orlando worked in both establishment’s weekends and summers. 

After two years of school in a business commerce program at Dawson College, he decided to pursue a managerial position in the restaurant and try out as Chef. 

Now, with 26 years of experience in the food service, Orlando brings his successful recipes to the South Bay.  As the Chef /owner of Orlando’s Pizzeria & Birreria Ristorante, he is always trying to refine his palette.  He enjoys learning from different cultures and meeting interesting people who have a passion for cooking - this makes it a pleasure to go into work every day.

So this morning, we’re going to hear how Orlando landed in the South Bay of LA via Canada and Italy. FYI, I’ve already eaten at Orlando’s so I can speak from experience. I also have a reservation for our annual Christmas Lunch with my Italian class.
