Our guest this morning is Rose Hein, Founder of Golden Heart Ranch.

As a child, Rose’s son Justin was diagnosed with Epilepsy. Like so many children with special needs, Justin depends entirely upon his family for his care, love and safety and like so many special children, Justin has never spent a night away from home. Rose always believed Justin’s future would be at home with his family - but the question loomed, what would happen when she was no longer there to provide for him.  A few years ago, she knew the time had come to secure Justin’s future.

Golden Heart Ranch is a community that will provide, on and off site jobs, organic gardens, ranch style homes where “Ranch Hands” can live permanently, equestrian therapy, recreation, friendships and opportunities for young adults with special needs to reach their fullest potential in an environment that is physically and emotionally safe.

Together with a dedicated group of volunteers, parents and a very supportive community, they have created a solid non-profit whose vision not only encompasses building this exceptional ranch, but to help others create a sustainable ranch model as well.

It is their mission to give these special kids a home that keeps their hearts golden and their belief in the goodness of people and life intact.

This morning, we’re going to hear more about this amazing project and one of the many ways they’re raising funds for it, including a fantastic event taking place this weekend in Manhattan Beach, the Golden Heart Ranch Urban Adventure!
