Our guests this morning are Heidi Butzine and Donald Szerlip of the Redondo Beach Economic Development Council.

Heidi Butzine is a best-selling author and founder of ShopLocal.us, which provides small business marketing strategies and raises consumer awareness about local businesses. Her most recent book,

Shop Local: A Practical Pain-Free Guide to Shopping with Purpose is part of her personal mission to get more people to understand the impact local businesses have on building healthy, wealthy and vibrant communities. Bringing together 25 years of career experience in business management and marketing, Heidi has seen the challenges that companies both large and small face, which fuels her desire to help small businesses thrive by cutting through the clutter of overwhelming marketing methods and making the right choices to save money, time and frustration.

Donald Szerlip is the Founder/COO of ADWERX COMMUNICATIONS, a boutique advertising and marketing services agency located in Redondo Beach. He’s had a successful  career  in  marketing and  public  relations in regional/local  government,  non-profit  and  business organizations.  Don has fluent knowledge of the local, state and federal legislative processes, political trends and key decision makers, with an emphasis on public works, economic development, telecommunications and transportation issues.

This morning, we’re going to discuss what the Economic Development Council at the Redondo Chamber is all about and what it does for the business community and the community at large.
