Our guests this morning are Gina Allen and Archie Sherman from the Manhattan Beach Parks & Recreation Department. 

Returning guest Gina Allen is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies and a Masters of Public Policy. In September 2004, Gina joined the City of Manhattan Beach as a Recreation Supervisor with the Parks and Recreation Department.  Two years later, she promoted to Recreation Services Manager. As Manager, Gina oversees registration services, implements and manages administrative support to meet community needs and handles marketing opportunities for the Department.

Archie Sherman is the Sports Supervisor for the Parke & Recreation Division. He grew up in Manhattan Beach and participated in numerous MB Parks & Rec programs throughout his childhood. Archie attended high school at Mira Costa where he was a member of the 1996 CIF volleyball championship team and graduated from Long Beach State with a degree in Business Economics. Archie has coordinated the City’s adult sports leagues since 2005 and has been supervising the City’s sports and fitness classes since 2013.

This morning, our guests are going to fill us in on some of the big events happening in Manhattan Beach this spring and summer.
