Our guests this morning are Candace Allen Nafissi and Christian Anthony Horvath, the two candidates in the election runoff for Redondo Beach District 3.

Candace Allen Nafissi is a 6-year resident of Redondo Beach and lifetime resident of the South Bay.  She has earned a Master’s in Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach and is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, a national political science honor society whose membership is based on academic achievement in political science.

Candace works as an Education & Policy Manager for the L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce.  In this role, she assisted in securing a $264MM investment in California for Early Education by leading a team of businesses statewide and nationally, advocating for the LA region.  This was the first investment in California for early education in almost a decade. She has been a Historical Commissioner for the City of Redondo Beach for two years.   .

Christian Anthony Horvath is a husband, father, small business owner and volunteer. He currently serves on the Redondo Beach Harbor Commission, is the Vice President of the North Redondo Beach Business Association and the organizer for TEDxRedondoBeach. Christian has been recognized for his community service with the 2011 Leadership Redondo Janet Johnson Spirit Award and the 2013 Redondo Beach Volunteer of the Year Award. In 2009, Horvath launched Champ Creative LLC, a thriving boutique advertising and graphic design firm.
