Our guest this morning is Jim Blair. Jim is the CEO of the Center for HealthCare Emergency Readiness.

He has worked in the healthcare industry for over 50 years and is an authority on hospital safety and security.

Jim began his career in the military and went on to work in both the public and private sectors.

He was the Chief Executive Officer at military hospitals ranging from the combat field to medical centers.

Jim was the Senior Healthcare Consultant for the US Army Surgeon General and Chief of Education and Training.

He’s spent the last 15 years preparing healthcare organizations to meet their expected role in the nation’s strategic all-hazards approach to preparedness for Homeland Security.

Jim is also the author of two books on hospital and healthcare all-hazards protection and numerous articles dealing with hospital administration.

Today, Jim will discuss the myths and realities of hospital preparedness for all hazards.
