Mike Godbold, Firefighter, Garden City, Georgia

Our guest this morning is Michael Godbold.

Michael is a Certified Fire Officer and Emergency Manager for the City of Garden City in Georgia.

During his 34 years in the fire service, Mike has been Fire Chief for the Thunderbolt Fire Department, Marine Emergency Response Team Commander for the Port of Savannah (the largest export port in the U.S.) and the Emergency Manager for the City of Garden City for 8 years.

Mike is a National Professional Certifications Fire Officer IV,III,II,I (hold the #1st certificate in the nation) Fire Instructor IV,III,II,I,  Marine Firefighter II/IC,  Georgia IMT III Team Red Logistics Chief and Logistics Chief  during the Imperial Sugar Refinery Fire (2008).

Mike developed numerous Emergency Operations Plans for several towns and cities in the area and developed the first FEMA approved Debris Removal and Management Plan for his city, one of the first in the state.

Mike has a MA in Professional Leadership Development, Masters of Science in Public Health, a BA in Health Care Management and a BSEE in Electrical Engineering Associate of Science in Fire Service Management.
