Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. James Moorer started his career writing at a very early age and had written and produced his first original stage play while still in elementary school, a feat largely unheard of at the time. He was a published poet by the age of 18, entering an early work in the New Voices in American Poetry in 1980.

Acting seems to go hand in hand with James’ passion for writing and led him to lend his voice for commercials, videos, music and feature projects. James credits include the Jim Troesh (Highway to Heaven) stage-play HARLEM with Nathaniel Freeman; the Dick Wolf (Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU) pilot, LOST AND FOUND with Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, Nip/Tuck, 24) and Tim Russ’, (Star Trek Voyager, Samantha Who), directorial debut film A NIGHT AT THE SILENT MOVIE THEATER with Phil LaMarr (Mad TV, Futurama), Ethan Philips (Star Trek Voyager, Eli Stone, Bones) and Tony Todd (Candyman, 24, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen).

Now as an Actor/Writer/Producer, James is currently developing a number of shows and has several television projects optioned as well as looking preparing for his directorial debut in 2014.
