THE REAL OAKLAND MOVEMENT WAS CREATED IN JUNE 2011 TO REVITALIZE THE TRUE CULTURE AND ESSENCE OF OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA. WHAT STARTED AS A SIMPLE HIP HOP SONG FEATURING THREE OAKLAND BASED ARTISTS SPREAD INTO A CITY WIDE MOVEMENT INCLUDING MERCHANDISING AND COMMUNITY ACTIVISM.
