About Alan Thicke

Alan Thicke is a Canadian actor, songwriter and author. He is best known for his role as psychiatrist and father Jason Seaver from ABC’s Growing Pains. He’s earned one Golden Globe® nomination and seven Emmy Award® nominations (five for writing and two for acting), composed some of the most hum-worthy TV theme songs in history (Diff’rent Strokes and The Facts of Life), penned two humor books, HOW MEN HAVE BABIES – The Pregnant Father’s Survival Guide and the sequel HOW TO RAISE KIDS WHO WON’T HATE YOU. He has also written a successful humor/Post 50 blog for Huff Post titled Boomer Monologues. Alan has been married to his wife Tanya since 2005 and has three sons from previous marriages, marijuana dispensary owner Brennan, Grammy®-winning superstar Robin, and mischievous high school student Carter. Alan (along with his family) are the stars of the hit sitcom reality show Unusually Thicke which enters its third season on Pop TV in September and is now seen in two countries (US and Canada).
