Episode (62): Dating and Marriage Defined

Tonight we are going to continue our discussion on marriage and the tenants of marriage. We will begin our dialogue with dating. On television, in barbershops, at church, at malls, in schools (elementary, middle, high and college) and in homes are varying ideas as to what dating is. You can find the dating conversation amongst all ages and professions. Also, in dating, you can find ideas as to what some believe marriage should be. We will explore dating ideas of exclusivity, dating around (?), dating vs. hooking up and the transition from dating to marriage.

Along with dating we will continue our discussion on marriage. Last night Shawn defined marriage as a business. When love gets involved, says Shawn, the business goes bad. Ralph, on the other hand, defined marriage more esoterically; without love there could be no real connection and lasting power in a marriage. We will also continue the debate of the validation of marriage. Is marriage only valid if there is a government approved license or religious rite performed? Join the conversation and weigh in on which side of the debate that you stand.
