Black Women and Youth in Business - Triumphs and Challenges

The organizer for last months Carol's Daughter event was Lawrence "Ben" Miles and he will be our guest this week. He works with the Women's Chamber of Commerce in Harlem.  We will play sound bites from this recording during the interview.

“By studying the blue print of the reconstruction period (1865-1877) and the development of self-sufficient black communities, we can begin to rebuild 21 century communities and become more self-sufficient as a whole.”  LAM

The objective of the show is to examine economic and community development and ways in which Black communities can be Reconstructed to mirror the independent communities created post slavery, such as; Tulsa Oklahoma, Rosewood, Florida and many others.  Essentially, the show will be used as a platform to connect the dots nationwide and globally.

Reconstruction is needed spiritually, mentally and physically.  With that said, interviews will be conducted with scholars, authors, educators, politicians, community organizers, etc. to explore best practice methods to achieve the goal stated above.  Conversations will be focused on SOLUTIONS!
