The artist known as LC 'Listen Close' was born Charles Loeb to Terrence and Bonnie Loeb in Los Angeles, California where his father, a songwriter himself, taught him the fundamentals of music.

LC began his singing career at the age of 16 and when asked the question "what made you start singing?" He jokingly replied, "The girls.... they said it was sexy! But seriously, I used to listen to all kinds of music as a child with my father and it just kind of stuck with me. It was the feeling of hearing the perfect collaboration of vocals, lyrics, and instruments that I fell in love with. Songwriting is in my blood, the lyrics call me to write them, they call me in my dreams!"

 LC describes his music as a mix between R&B, Gospel, Blues and Hip Hop. He states, "My music is a mixture of all the music I grew up listening to from Stevie Wonder....to Muddy Waters...to Nas...to Natalie Cole."
