Both positive and negative traits can become magnified over time as we fall into habits.The Christian Bible says in Proverb 22:8 Whoever sows injustice will reap calamity, and the rod of his fury will fail. Hinduism says "Karma" literally means "action," and more broadly names the universal principle of cause and effect, action and reaction. Many other religions believe in Karma also.
