Thank you for checking out this episode of The Help Desk with Kim Nelson-Ingram.

April 20th is “National Donate Life Blue and Green Day” where everyone is encouraged to wear the National Donate Life colors in support of organ, eye and tissue donation. I encourage you to do so too!

This year, Donate Life America has a goal to sign up 20 million new donors in as part of the "20 million in 2012" campaign. More than 113,000 people in the U.S. are waiting for a life-saving transplant and sadly, due to a lack of donors, one in three will die waiting.

In celebration of National Donate Life Month, we are re-airing this debut episode of The Help Desk.

You'll hear the story of a sweet 12-year-old girl, Taitlyn Hughes, who made the grown-up decision to be an organ donor and save the lives of four others. The recipient of her liver, Nefeterius McPherson, joins me on this show.

Also, a middle school teacher, referee, and avid sports fan talks about how his life has changed while waiting for a kidney transplant.

And former NBA player and kidney transplant recipient Alonzo Mourning offers some words of inspiration and encouragement.

If you've ever thought about signing up to be an organ donor but had doubts, concerns or questions, this episode of The Help Desk is for you.
