With the passing of Dr. Ralph Stanley this week, we bid adieu to a friend and elder of folk music as we know it. Ralph Stanley played folk music for his whole life, starting at age 6 and for the next 83 years left an indelible mark on the world. There is good chance that many of us who carry the torch of folk tradition were handed it by Dr. Ralph. Thanks for your breath, friend! Go now, and well!

We will also be showing off some tunes by some new groups to Thee Constant Traveller this week, such as Ye Vagabonds and Skipper's Alley, whose names were passed on to us around a fire in Southern Oregon and at a square dance in a Portland bike shop/bar. It get's weird, sometimes.
