How often have we managed, worked with, or worked for otherwise technically sound, capable individuals who are tripped up time and again by their inability to manage their emotions…read the emotions of others or “a room” …effectively build and manage relationships…or all of the above? Emotional Intelligence skills, long viewed as hard to measure leadership “soft skills” that took a back seat to IQ and charisma, continues to steadily gain more prominence and acceptance in the workplace as major contributor to job performance at all levels.  The “EQ Factor” was both the focus and topic of an article written by Frank Levesque for Talent Economy Magazine’s Fall 2017 edition.  In the article Frank makes the case for EQ not only as a key leadership competency but also for HR professionals.
