Repentance is the Key: Chicago Homicides

The Book of Ecclesiastes tells us that there is a time and season to every purpose under heaven.  A time to be born, and a time to die, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to weep and a time to laugh. In 2012, the residents of Chicago Illinois have only seen death, murder, mourning and tears.  And while many Americans grieved the 144 soldiers who died on the battle fields of Afghanistan, few took notice of the over 228 youth who were violently shot down on the streets of Chicago. And while most of the nation followed the Presidents political endeavors, other accused him of turning a blind eye to the plight of Chicago’s inner city youth.  But in a city totally overrun by gang violence is there anything that the President “CAN” do??? And why has the so called black church been so ineffective in reaching the youth they claim to serve? With the summer just beginning and the Death toll expected to rise even higher, an answer must be found and soon. Failure to act could very well mean the destruction of the next generation of Chicago’s Children.
