Welcome to #shirtstorm! British scientist Matt Taylor, a key member of the Rosetta spacecraft project, was interviewed earlier this week as the world watched the first ever spaceship landing on a comet. Unfortunately, that day Taylor decided to wear to work a colorful shirt adorned with images of scantily clad women, wearing bondage gear and brandishing guns. Oops!! Within minutes a Twitter campaign against Matt was launched using the hashtag #shirtstorm. Eventually, a chastened Matt gave a tearful apology. So much for a new era of "cool scientists!" Meanwhile, the world continued to lurch from one ridiculous story to another: * A mummy and two skeletons of unknown origin were found on the roof terrace of a Madrid university building. * Doctors in Poland said a man who impaled himself through the head with a 15-inch piece of wood is now recovering from the injury. * Residents of the French town of Montevrain were told to stay indoors after a tiger was spotted on the loose near Disneyland Paris just outside of the city. * A boy in Britain who took the Microsoft Certified Professional exam at the age of 5 has become the world's youngest person to pass the test. * The Austrian Justice Ministry has opened an online store to sell prisoner-made crafts including handbags created from old jeans. Call us this Sunday night between 10pm and midnight during the live broadcast of THE BIGGER PICTURE on 866-870-5752 (or 866-870-KRLA). Let us know what you're thinking about the state of the world we live in today!
