Joining the show for a roundtable on women in religion will be Leora Tannenbaum, Asra Nomani, and Ashley Reynolds.*** Asra Q. Nomani, a former reporter for the Wall Street Journal for 15 years, is the author of “Standing Alone: An American Woman’s Struggle for the Soul of Islam.” Starting in August 2007, she will be a visiting scholar in the practice of journalism at Georgetown University, leading the Pearl Project, a faculty-student investigation into the murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. She currently lives in Morgantown, W.V., with her son Shibli.*** Ashley Reynolds is a Catholic deacon living in Alabama. Ashley serves as Anchoress and as a Camadolese Benedictine oblate. She will be ordained to the priesthood in Jan. by Bishop Jim Burch of the Catholic Diocese of One Spirit.*** Leora Tanenbaum has recently completed her third book, Taking Back God: American Women Rising Up for Religious Equality, to be published in December. Leora has also written for Newsday, Seventeen, Ms., and The Nation, among many other publications. Leora regularly discusses girls' and women's issues in academic venues, TV news and entertainment shows. Leora lives in New York City with her husband and two sons.
