Jake Down

This project was a little unexpected but now I am so excited to embrace it. So, let’s start from the beginning. I have always been a lover of music, but up until recently I have been little more than, to quote “High Fidelity,” a ‘Professional Appreciator.’ In high school, a few of my peers and I attempted a garage band but like many, we never made it out of the garage – it still however surprises me how much of that experience actually helped me to develop my talent. In January of 2009 I decided that waiting around for another band was just not worth it. I finally stopped making excuses and began the laborious process of learning to play the guitar. Within a month I was already writing my first song. God has gifted me with natural musical and writing abilities and I thank him all the time for them. I still am pretty amateur when it comes to advanced guitar playing, but what I know how to do I do well. Writing is truly my passion, and in that I continue to grow as well. “The Wind On Your Face” is the culmination of the past year – of experiences, emotions, and thoughts on faith. It is an amazing gift from God that within the first year of playing a guitar this should be the fruit. I am excited for the future and for the chance that God has given me to share this music with you. I hope you enjoy it!
