Tonight Raventalker and I have the pleasure of welcoming Medicine Song Woman, Brenda MacIntyre to our fire. When I first heard the Music that came from Brenda's Drum drum, I felt the energy lift me from the place I was in. I remember at that moment I felt there was such a purpose in this woman's work I had to share it with as many as I could. Now three years after first hearing her, I am honored and humbled that she now joins us here on the Wolf and the bear. Please help us welcome her to our ever growing family. Photobucket Brenda MacIntyre is known as Medicine Song Woman and her latest music is filled with reasons why. Haunting Aboriginal chants, uplifting lyrics and soulful vocals mingle with African/Aboriginal percussion, evocative guitar, bass and Middle Eastern flute. Based in Toronto, Brenda performs and speaks internationally and has been featured nationally on MuchMusic, APTN, OMNI, CTV, Global, Vision and Telelatino Network. Her last CD was nominated for a 2007 Aboriginal People’s Choice Award and Brenda was Toronto’s 2007 Aboriginal Businesswoman of the Year. Her latest CD Medicine Song was released in August 2009 and has enjoyed airplay on CBC, CIUT 89.5 FM and other radio stations across Canada. “Back in the River” (Track 13) was featured as “Our Pick” in September 2009 on CFWE FM in Edmonton. "Her latest album showcases Brenda's amazing voice and range." --CBC Radio One's "Fresh Air" producer Mariel Borelli Her healing music energizes and calms audiences all at once, while her clear voice leaves you with goosebumps.
