Today we shall look into the meaning and glory of the great Gayatri mantra, revered as the most powerful and sacred of the Vedic mantras.  This mantra, revealed to us by the Brahmarishi Visvamitra, is traditionally chanted and meditated on facing the Sun at sunrise, noon, and sunset.  It is a call and collective prayer to the divine effulgence of Savitar -- the solar agency that nourishes our life and impels our evolution --  to enlighten our intellects with the highest knowledge.  In this year 2012 of increasing solar emanations coming in our direction, the Gayatri mantra's proven potency to awaken solar consciousness and align cosmic energies will help Ananda pioneers jumpstart their evolutionary journey.
