Where are you Lazarus?

Ulysses "Butch" Slaughter, Founder of The Odyssey Project, talks about the purpose of his new initiative The Lazarus Project. Developed as a community reconciliation and restoration process, The Lazarus Project is currently focused on Shakiyl Smith who was shot in August 2008 in Chester City PA. Smith, 21, now lives as a quadriplegic but wants to find the person who shot him. No one was ever arrested in connection with the shooting. Smith does not want to press charges. He has forgiven the person we call "Lazarus." He believes he and the shooter could make a powerful community statement if they could work together.
