he disciples that had followed Jesus were promised to receive the Holy Ghost. They were promised that it would bring power so they could be witnesses, but it was going to cost them.   Luke 24:49 49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
