The blogger known as King Rat goes by Philip Weiss in real life. I started using the name online in 1989 on Quartz BBS, the first internet based BBS. The name is based on James Clavell’s book King Rat. I started blogging my books in 2002 on my personal LiveJournal, but moved the books to a standalone blog in 2005. In real life, I work as a freelance software developer. I live in Seattle with my cat Guinevere. I like pie, boots, and books.
