TFP Today (2/16)

Originally slated as an "off day," a special thirty minute edition of TFP Today hits the airwaves this Monday, as host Francis Anzalone is called back to Studio C from vacation to discuss the NHL's hottest headline.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have relieved Michel Therrien of his coaching duties, and have appointed Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma as the club's interim bench boss. Francis will bounce GM Ray Shero's decision to make change around with TFP's Dan Kingerksi, who dials in at the start of the program to talk hockey.

We have a special treat for the listening audience at about twenty minutes passed the hour. The elder Anzalone, Francis' father Frank, a highly successful pro and collegiate coach, who joins Dan Kingerski each week on TFP's syndicated radio program for a new segment called "Chalk Talk," dials into the program. During each edition of "Chalk Talk," the coach profiles a featured team's on-ice concept of play. Just last week, Frank and Dan spoke about the Pittsburgh Penguins. Coach Anzalone will join Francis live to talk about the Pens under Therrien and the role his system may have played in Ray Shero's decision.
