Mike Bachhuber, Executive Director, Independent Living Council of Wisconsin, Madison, WI
Mike has worked for social justice for the last four decades, in disability rights since 1997.  His work includes Wisconsin's Protection and Advocacy System, an IL Center and his current job. As a consumer, Mike sat on the state’s Mental Health Planning and Advisory Council and served as a founding Board member for its Mental Health Consumer Network. He currently devotes time to organizing the civil rights efforts of the National Council on Independent Living as Co-chair of its Mental Health Civil Rights Task Force and has worked with ADAPT. He received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Imparato is the former President and CEO of AAPD and comes to AUCD from the position of Senior Counsel and Disability Policy Director for the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, chaired by Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa. Previously, Imparato served as the General Counsel and Director of Policy for the National Council on Disability, an attorney advisor with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, counsel to the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Disability Policy, and a staff attorney with the Disability Law Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

These Champions have been fighting  the regressive attempts against all persons with disabilities and the show will high late succeses and strategies.
