What Has Caused the Current Hegemony of Western Civilization?

Racist.  Exploitative.  Callous.  Enslaving.  Barbarous.  Sexist and patriarchical.  Culturally destuctive.  Degenerate.  Genocidal.  Bloodthirsty.  Murderous and cruel.  Environmentally destructive.  Anti-human.  These negative appelations and many other apalling sobriquets have been applied to the various civilizations and cultures that are the direct descendents of the Hellenic or Greek culture that came into being millenia ago.  These unflattering descriptions are not without foundation,  has they are part and parcel of the history and legacy of the West and the civilizations that originated in Europe and North America.  But is that the whole story?  Is their anything redeeming in that legacy,  that is singularly unique owing to the very dynamism and virtues that enabled it to obtain such world domination and hegemony?  Join Sarge has we attempt to examine this interesting proposition here on TRS.
