Minstrel and Muse is kicking off the holiday season with the music of world renowned electric violinist Geoffrey Castle and his amazing album Underhill's Angel. He shares the beautiful stories and inspirations behind the songs and also shares his favorite Christmas traditions.

Order the CD for yourself or as a gift for someone else.  It's timeless.

Geoff started out as a street musician in New York City and Paris and he rose to play in the Tony Award winning Broadway production of M. Butterfly. A theme of Castle's career is to destroy people's pre-conceived notions of what is possible on a violin. Geoffrey Castle has also managed to share stages with an illustrious group of musicians including Blues Traveler, all of the original and current members of Heart, Buddy Miles, and Alan White of Yes. Underhill's Angel is about tradition and 2000 years of Christmas celebrations.

Geoffrey said:

"I wanted to make a CD with songs that predated the commercialization of Christmas. Melodies that are 200, 300, 400, 800 years old. A CD with deep spiritual roots, and a sound that feels right now, full of inspiration and improvisation. Eric Robert and I went into the studio with Grammy award-winning bassist Garey Shelton and these ancient melodies—some of which will be familiar, and some that I am sure will become new favorites—and we followed our own path."
