Our listeners who are fans of great 80's music may remember the classic roots rock band The Brandos who charted on Billboard and toured the world opening for legends like The Cars and INXS.

Now, long time friends and former Brandos' drummer and songwriter, Larry Mason and Carl Funk, have formed their own band, The Halyards, and written and recorded an album with another longtime friend, Grammy-winner Eric Tingstad. The album, Fortune Smiles, is a bit of everything: roots rock, Spanish guitar, funk, and americana. It defies labels, as do the seasoned musicians whose life's lessons and experiences have formed it.

A wonderful piece of music you're sure to love, Carl Funk stops by to share the songs and the stories behind the album. Join Minstrel and Muse for a conversation with seasoned songwriter and performer Carl Funk.
