This Thanksgiving, Let Them Eat Vegan!

    in Food

This year, there was a shortage of Thanksgiving turkeys because of the bird flu. In light of this shortage, there are many options for enjoying family meals without using meat or animal parts. When you make your own food from scratch, it is not only more economical but it helps you to connect with your food, where it comes from and who is growing it. The more that people choose to shop consciously, the better it is for the environment. Only when people understand the devastation caused by factory farms operating in a monoculture environment will they understand just how devastating the impact. That is why more and more people are making the transition to veganism. Plant based diets are not only more humane, they are healthier! In Dreena Burton's Let Them Eat Vegan: 200 Deliciously Satisfying Plant-Strong Recipes for the Whole Family you will find a myriad of easy to make, delectable recipes ranging from soups and burgers to wraps and ice cream! What is especially great about this book is that the recipes are not only plant based but have handy options for raw and gluten-free! Tune in to this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer is joined by special guest, Dreena Burton to discuss her new book, Let them Eat Vegan! Stay tuned! in Entertainment

    This Little Piggy

This little piggy went to market,This little piggy stayed home,This little piggy had roast beef,This little piggy had none.

This little piggy went ...Wee, wee, wee, all the way home!

Why because everyone went VEGAN. The Vegan diet is now on the lips and tongues of many. Loads of Hollywood stars have converted to this type of lifestyle. I address it as a lifestyle because it is more than just your typical grab and go. A lot of thought has to been given to the ingredients, the places you select to shop, dine out at and how the food is prepared. Come and feast with me and my guest Steven Todd Smith

The Vegan Lifestyle w/ Brown Vegan

    in Vegetarian

I am excited to have Monique from Brown Vegan coming on the show. Even though I became a vegetarian in 2013, I am now in a phase where I want to transition to becoming a vegan. Therefore, I wanted Monique to come on the show and share her journey. I found Monique on YouTube I believe last year. Her videos are great especially for those who are struggling with giving up certain foods where they can substitute them with other plant based options. I also enjoy the fact that she has a family which is helpful for those with children and/or a spouse. Yes, children can be vegan too! Of course I would suggest checking with a pediatrician and/or nutritionist as well, especially one who will be encouraging of this lifestyle with children (many of them promote meat and dairy diets).

The Bible speaks on how our bodies are the temples. I believe this also includes what we put inside of it. I do not believe that we should just put anything in our bodies, but to be conscious of what we are putting in it. This is not a show to force veganism down anyone's throats, but based on how the world is going, I strongly believe we should try to avoid and/or limit a lot of the foods we are used to eating.

I hope this show will encourage those who are considering a vegan lifestyle or those who have already begun to embark on this journey. I am looking forward to learning about more options and ideas that Monique has. She has a lot of resources on her website as well, which I will place below.

3 John 1:2 "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."

    Wanda's Picks Radio Show

    in Art

This is a black arts and culture site. We will be exploring the African Diaspora via the writing, performance, both musical and theatrical (film and stage), as well as the visual arts of Africans in the Diaspora and those influenced by these aesthetic forms of expression. I am interested in the political and social ramifications of art on society, specifically movements supported by these artists and their forebearers. It is my claim that the artists are the true revolutionaries, their work honest and filled with raw unedited passion. They are our true heroes. Ashay!
