THE COOL CRITICS SATURDAY DECEMBER 19 2015

    in Radio

Valcine came up with a topic - what happened to women?  She's GHETTO stereotypes, of Black Women.  What happened?  Hershel Myers Jr mentioned the HUNG JURY in the Freddie Gray case and the situation with Bernie Sanders, where his campaign was being suspended.  Dave brought to our attention TERRORISM, not just from ISIS, but from Black on Black, White racism, Latin murderers, killers - terrorize means to cause TERROR or FEAR.  Terrorism is more than just a Muslim thing. Aaron reminds us that his "GAY TV" topic where it seems we're being forced to experience the gay agenda whether we want to or not,  and the growing flack against Michael Jordan with his expensive shoes and the fact that he's investing in private prisons yet little in the Black community.  And the commercialism of the Christmas holiday.  And Michael Gay suggested the ETHAN COUCH case, the spoiled 16 year old who killed all those people.  We are sure to talk about several of these, so you'll have to tune it to find out which ones!  347-205-9366. THE COOL CRITICS - STARBUCKS RED CUPS & PARIS FRANCE

    in Radio

I know you want to get in on the discussion today - or you want to listen to another angle.  Valcine brought up the RED CUPS at STARBUCKS - a religious trend, or shall I say an UN-RELIGIOUS trend is slowly seeping into our system, and the whole world is up in arms about Paris France.  347-205-9366 - tell someone, we get serious here on the COOL CRITICS, and sometimes a few of us may go off - but in the end, you have learned something, perhaps, maybe?  Violence - Terror - so many things happening in 2015, and you would think the WORLD would get better, but it seems like it won't. - 347-205-9366.

  • COOL CRITICS LOOK BACK AT 2011 FOUR YEAR ANNIVERSARY MONTH

    in Radio

Originally, the anniversary show was going to be played today - however due to some technical difficulties, the program that I used to EDIT the show, and put it together, like I did recently with the B B King tribute, the William "Mickey" Stephenson/MOTOWN show, the Mother's day tribute and others - did not work with the current update that I did with WINDOWS 10 - I have to resort to some other methods and do the show next week, which is still in August, by the calendar I checked, so hold onto your mules..... I should have listened to VALCINE's clue when she said she had some issues with Windows 10 and I should have remembered all the other times when WINDOWS updated, it kicked out some programs ETC.

    ANY WHO -

Tonight, you will hear one of the earlier shows - which featured Mark Dixon, Aaron Anderson, Cecelia Davis and Anna Redding.  This was a show back in 2011 where the COOL CRITICS look back at 2011... Enjoy -

by the by - there are some shows mentioned here that have changed or are no longer on the network.

Thank you for being a part of the growth of THE JKN / The Jay King Network.

THE COOL CRITICS feature LAURA COWAN / DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

    in Radio

On the show today, The Cool Critics, get with Laura Cowan.  She is an advocate in helping those who have been through domestic violence.  From the National Domestic Hotline, it states On average, 24 people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner in the United States — more than 12 million women and men over the course of a year.  Nearly 3 in 10 women (29%) and 1 in 10 men (10%) in the US have experienced rape, physical violence and/or stalking by a partner and report a related impact on their functioning.  1 in 4 women (24.3%) and 1 in 7 men (13.8%) aged 18 and older in the United States have been the victim of severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

Those are just a few of the statistics on domestic violence, we are pleased to have Laura Cowan, tell her story, and inform us on what she is doing.  347-205-9366 - We are THE JKN.  The Jay King Network

THE COOL CRITICS - LAMBERT DAVIS, SELMA ANNIVERSARY & SAPHYR BLUE

    in Radio

Selma was an unforgettable event in our lives, whether we knew someone that was there, or just remembering, like the President did last week with Congressman John Lewis.  There are a lot of things that have happened in our country that were mind boggling, and baffling.  All the killing.  Can't say any was not needed, I can't be the judge, but Aaron Anderson is back on the scene, Lambert Davis and Saphyr Blue have a little tete-la-tete, (I hope that's how you say it) and the show is a reBroadcast from last week.  It was very interesting, and for those of you who missed it, well here's your chance to check it out - THE COOL CRITICS, baby.  We Are On!

THE COOL CRITICS - HEALTH CARE / AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE

    in Radio

For years, HEALTH CARE has been an issue, due to costs, and those who are for helping others, and those who are against it.  And that's tricky.  No one says they are against it, they just say, they are against health care the way it is, the way some want it to be, and more.  In Canada AND England, their population enjoys FREE HEALTH CARE, however, there are pros and cons about that too, from people in the United States.  In one of the recent Olympics presentations that took place in England, the English bragged about their health care system.

This show is a re-broadcast.  Reylon Ellis, Anna Redding and the rest of the crew took this topic head on.

    Thank you for listening.

THE COOL CRITICS / YEAR END 2014

    in Radio

This is the end of the year.  The Cool Critics spend their last weekend with you.  And like most media, we are talking about some of the hotter subjects that have been in the news, in your face over 2014.  You may have a favorite story.  It could have been the Bill Cosby transgressions, or young Tamir Rice, where they keep saying MAN WITH A GUN, when it was really a BOY WITH A TOY.  I Can't Breathe and the antics that major sports players have shown by wearing T-Shirts that said the same in protest of excessive police behavior.  347-205-9366 is you cell/land line connection.  All In?  347-205-9366.

    Thanks!
