    in Culture

What if one sound -- one simple focused sound that any of us could make with our voice -- could alter a moment or change the molecular structure of a cell?
Please join me, The Unstoppable Frankie Picasso this week when I am joined by my guest Tryshe
Dhevney, a woman with an incredible tale of self discovery and remarkable healing.
Ten years ago, doctors told Tryshe that she would most likely die within a month from the hepatitis C and cirrhosis of the liver that they no longer could treat.
Tryshe, an actor by training, found her voice and started using it more as solace, but then as her health improved, as a means of healing.
    Indeed, sound saved her.
Today, ten years after leaving mystified doctors in her wake, Tryshe is teaching others how to use sound to heal from physical, emotional and spiritual diseases and imbalances, something she now calls SOUNDShifting.
In her SOUNDShifting workshops and seminars, people learn to use their voice to create “sound” health, to recognize what their voice is saying about them, to return their body and mind to their natural rhythm and frequency.

Self Healing with Sound, guest Tryshe Dhevney

    in Health

Today I have Tryshe Dhevney, insightful author of 'Sound Shifting' and the recipient of the Outstanding Performance Award, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Join us today and get a start for a healthier 2011 learning about the healing power of sound.

In May 2000, Tryshe Dhevney was told by doctors that there was no longer anything they could do to treat her Hepatitis C and liver disease, and to "get her affairs in order." Five months later, doctors were mystified when tests revealed that she was disease free. Tryshe had healed herself through the power of sound, specifically that of toning. Now through workshops and private therapy she teaches others how to use their voice and other sounds to generate their own healing tones that allows optimum health and well-being. Her work with sound, movement and authentic expression has been acknowledged as ground-breaking by those in the field of science and medicine.
Tryshe has been in private practice for the past 15 years and conducts national and international retreats and workshops in SoundShifting, as well as programs that combine traditional theatre, recovery therapy, and spiritual disciplines to create living art for social change.

She has been featured on CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, the PBS documentary, Coming 2, FOX Forum, the Dr. Laura Show, and various periodicals including Teen People Magazine, TV Guide, The Times of London, Cleveland Plain Dealer, San Francisco Examiner and Chronicle, Seattle Times and Post Intelligencer. She has presented for national audiences including the United Nations and the Child Welfare League of America.
