Candidate for Tolleson Union High School District Governing Board.
"The only way to move forward is together, lets raise the bar"
Devin Del Palacio has announced that he will be a candidate for the Tolleson Union High School Governing Board.
“I have decided to run because of my true passion for ensuring that every student has an equal opportunity to a successful future,” said Del Palacio.
From 2007-2009, Del Palacio worked for the Department of Economic Security (DES). At DES he discovered his passion for helping those in need; while inspiring them to make a change in their lives and their communities.
As a biracial male with African American and Mexican heritage, growing up in central Phoenix, he was exposed to various ethnicities and cultures on a daily basis. It was the same passion that led Mr. Palacio to create the non-profit organization of PHX United in November of 2011.
“It's time to raise the bar and focus on areas that contribute to student achievement, such as health and wellness, safety, and parental engagement," said Del Palacio. "We must all get fired up about education. Help me raise the bar, not just for our students, but also for our community!”
Del Palacio serves on various city and non-profits boards such as the Maryvale Village Planning Committee, Maryvale YMCA and the Arizona Advocacy Network. He has also received recognition for his dedication towards improving the quality of living for everyone. In 2013, the Cesar Chavez Foundation honored Del Palacio for his commitment to beautifying inner-city neighborhoods.

You know how there’s certain people that just can literally make you smile by their enthusiasm and genuineness? Kathy Tolleson of ROAR Motorcycles is that person. We came across her interview on Entrepreneur.com and immediately her story pulled us in. She is a grandma that had a love for motorcycles and took the leap to create her business with ROAR Motorcycles. Their industry is largely dominated by males but Kathy wanted to cater to the women riders and create custom bikes for them. Kathy says that they don’t do a ton of advertising simply because the bikes are their word of mouth around town. This just shows you that if you think outside the box and find a niche that others will take notice.
