Grant Cameron became involved in Ufology as the Vietnam War ended in May 1975 with personal sightings of an object which locally became known as Charlie Red Star. The sightings occurred in Carman, Manitoba about 25 miles north of the Canada-US border. Hundreds of other people sighted objects at the same time during the sightings. Over the next 18 months he had many sightings of large objects and small objects in the area. He spent countless days in the area photographing a series of strange objects. Cameron has turned his research interests to the involvement, actions of the President of the United States in the UFO problem. He has made 25+ trips to the National Archives and most of the various Presidential archives looking for presidential UFO material. One highlight his presidential UFO research was the chance to question Vice-president Dick Cheney on his knowledge of the UFO subject. Another highlight is White House Office of Science and Technology which yielded 1,000 pages of UFO documents from the Clinton administration. He has lectured widely in Canada, Europe, and the United States on the 1975 Carman flap, the Canadian government's early investigations into UFOs, UFO disclosure politics, the Rockefeller UFO Initiative, and the Presidential UFO connection. In 2005 he was denied access to the United States to lecture on UFOs and why the government has chosen to withhold the truth. At present Cameron is sorting through almost 100 FOIA requests from the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas, related to the UFO related actions and policies inside the two Presidential terms of Bill Clinton. The Clinton administration was very interested in the pheneomena and actually tried to force out some of the hidden infomation to the public. Many of these findings have been written up on The Presidents UFO Website www.presidentialufo.com.
You know what September means for the Oscar, Oscar show! That's right, it's time for Garney, Jason, and Jamey to step out on that limb, and make their insanely early Oscar predictions! Even though there's still four months worth of movies to come out, these Oscar experts will put it on the line to predict what nominees and maybe even winners will be announced next February as the best of 2014. It's one of the best annual shows not to be missed!
Born in Barcelona, our guest on 11/19/2014 has made QUITE a splash in his adopted country. Besides the fact that he just voted for the first time - as an American citizen :) Oscar Penas (I can't wait to say his last name: PEA Nyas!) is a gifted guitarist, composer and bandleader with a new CD that is, indeed, bragworthy. "Music of Departures and Returns" is full of inspirations that captivate Oscar - who has discussed the reasons why he was so drawn to Jazz after his childhood studies in Classical Music. He relished the idea of creating melodies and interacting with other musicians. Pat Metheny and Wayne Shorter were sparks that goaded him early on. Then, the music of Pixinguinha - the flamenco music of Spain that was so infused inside of him - all the ingredients that would define the intoxicating stew of Oscar's music - were taking shape. This is a gentleman who has won the "ASCAP Plus Award" - so SOMETHING's working :)
Oscar is visiting us for two reasons. One, he's performing at the prestigious Strathmore in Bethesda, Maryland, in the next few days. We certainly wanted to call attention to that. Secondly, this new album, Oscar's fourth, is full of music that enriches the soul. Esperanza Spalding and Paquito D'Rivera are featured - as is producer, arranger and pianist, Gil Goldstein. He also focuses on quartet: six-string electric bassist Moto Fukushima, drummer Richie Barshay, and the world-class violinist, Sara Caswell.
Besides being an alluring guitarist - both intelligent and earthy - Oscar is a wise man. He knew that, after his education at Berklee and the New England Conservatory, he would have to stand out in the sea of sublime artistry that populates New York City. So, he dug deeply, honoring his roots and his passion for Jazz. The results will make your ears thank you :)
In this first edition of Cross Encounters Commentary, Tony Miano discusses the recent, tragic death of St. Louis Cardinals' ooutfielder, Oscar Taveras, and the issue of speaking ill of the dead.

Deb Grant is a force in organized dental hygiene. She was state president when the teachers' union took dental hygiene under its wing and it changed the course of practice in IL. By joining forces, she proved that everything is about money. The Teachers' Union had money and influence and getting together she showed that dental hygienists are not greedy, they just want to work. And if the doctor takes a vacation they can still see patients.
Today Deb is many things, including a NERB examiner. Listen in as we reveal the ins and outs of the examination process that dental hygiene students and dental students must go through to receive their licence to practice.
