Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. President of the United States, George Washington proclaimed the first nation-wide thanksgiving celebration in America on November 26, 1789, "as a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many favors of Almighty God". In modern times the President of the United States, issues a proclamation, “pardoning” a turkey to ensures that it will spend the duration of its life roaming freely on farmland. American public school romanticizes Thanksgiving Day telling stories of pilgrims and “Indians” celebrating together, sharing harvested crops and cooked wild game. T

Thanksgiving can be difficult time, like any other holiday but there is always, always, always something to be THANKFUL for. Some of us are thankful for the opportunity to start over and for making it out of a miserable situation. For others, you may feel lke you've lost everything and there's not much to be thankful for. I challenge that way of thinking, because all of us have so many things to be thankful for, while for others some of us need to put the THANKS back into Thanksgiving.
So this holiday season I challenge you to answer one question WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR? So this Saturday November 22, 2014 @ 7:30pm EST, call in and give us your comments and thoughts at (646) 929-0243. Join our chat room as well. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Join Dennis on this episode of Own Your Life as he discusses the trend of consumers bypasssing Thanksgiving and family to shop for bargains. Dennis will explore the current meaning of Thanksgiving as well as getting back to core family values and traditions. Join him tonight, November 19th at 10 PM.
Ah, Thanksgiving. A holiday filled with family, gratitude, and food, food, food! An interesting statistic about the day: an average plate of Thanksgiving classics contains anywhere from 1,600-3,000 calories — that's over most people's recommended daily allowance. While I am not trying to deter anyone from enjoying a great meal that can take hours, even days, to make, there are ways to make sitting down at the Thanksgiving table healthier. Tune in 11/ 19 at noon ET for my tips to Lose Weight On Thanksgiving Day!

Jay and Matt have the great debate…Green Bean Casserole, disgusting trash or delectable treasure?
