Terranea Resort is located on the beautiful Palos Verdes Pennisula just south of Los Angeles. It’s known as LA’s premier oceanfront resort and the second you enter the property, you see exactly why it got this designation.
This week Peter Greenberg will broadcast from Terranea, which is celebrating its 5th anniversary. Located on the exact site that used to be home to Marineland, a theme park Peter himself remembers visiting fondly as a young boy, Terranea not only offers new and exciting things to do, but has an amazing history.
Peter is joined by Allan Franz, an anthropologist and professor working with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy who tells Peter all about the local history, including what famous show was shot right off the Peninsula in front of the hotel. Hint: One of the restaurants at Terranea is named after it.
He also gets a chance to meet some of the wild falcons that live at the center. Peter talks to Joe Roy who tells him all about the history of falcons in the area and why they stay.
You can listen to all of this and more on this week's epsiode of Travel Today with Peter Greenberg from Terranea Resort in Ranchos Palos Verdes.

The New Year is upon us, and that brings out one of the most popular events held for humankind at this time - New Years’ Resolutions. The surreal part of this is that over 80% of all New Years’ Resolutions FAIL within the first few months. There are many indications and opinions based upon WHY so many people fail with their top wish coming true at the beginning of each year. But it can be stated that even when someone has a proven set of instructions given to them on how to achieve that desire, they simply fail anyway. So we can be sure that knowing something doesn't attest in doing it. We don't fear change, we fear being changed. We get comfortable in our lives and getting out of that comfort zone is too demanding for us to make that change - so we resort back to our 'path of least resistance.' In this segment, we will talk about the most aggressive and sure fire ways to take control of the path you are seeking, to release the fears, and to achieve your desires for this upcoming year and the ones to follow.
In this segment, we will discuss and consider the following:
* How to let go of old feelings, etc.
* Why it is harmful to keep living in the past
* The most important steps you can take to live out the greatest life you are seeking
* The importance of meditation, autosuggestion, and mental visualization with regards to achieving your New Year Resolution
* How to release old intimate relationships
* Letting go of resentment, anger, and lack of forgiveness
This show is set to run for approx. 2 hours. Phone calls will be taken from callers for the last 60 minutes of this segment, so be prepared for any questions you may have for the host at this time upon calling in to the radio show hotline.
Adonis Stevenson (25-1, KOs 21) fought a very measured fight in the early stages of the fight, but managed to score a devastating knockout victory against Dmitry Sukhotsky (22-3, KOs 16).
Stevenson being a natural counterpuncher, waited for opportunities for Sukhotsky to open up, but since Sukhotsky remained very conservative, the pace of the bout was very leisurely in the early rounds. Despite the slow pace of the fight, Stevenson managed to score a knockdown in the 2nd round with a solid left hand in in the closing seconds of the round. In a special Saturday edition of Showtime Boxing on ShoExtreme, Jesus Cuellar took on Ruben Tamayo in the main event of a quadruple header made up of mostly Al Haymon fighters, live from the Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, Washington.
The Argentine Cuellar, coming off his destruction win over Juan Manuel Lopez, entered the fight looking to make a third successful defense of his interim WBA featherweight title against Tamayo, who came into the fight with two wins in 2014.
The slugger Cuellar started the fight with an intense pace and pushed the action. Tamayo, the boxer in the fight, tried countering from the start but had trouble keeping Cuellar from closing the distance and remaining in his range. Torsha Lynn’s life has thrown her a few curve balls, but as they say, the best laid plans of mice and men often go astray. Even through immense heartbreak and incredible joy, one thing has always been clear: she was meant to be a singer. Returning to her life’s passion to release her sophomore album, “Inappropriate,” which has already been hailed by critics for its “flawless vocals, hypnotic melodies and epic anthems,” Torsha’s latest album promises to deliver a unique R&B style sure to draw in listeners with her powerful voice and sound.
From an early age, Torsha, a Dallas, TX native and resident, filled her home with song: she was singing solos in her church choir at just four years old, competing in statewide competitions by middle school, singing in an all-female musical group throughout high school, joining the choir and band in junior high and high school. By the time she started college, on a full scholarship to Texas Christian University, she began to sing professionally.
I literally walked off the graduation stage and into a studio to produce my first solo album with Michael Lloyd, former vice president of A&R at MGM Records, and Emmy award winning songwriter Greg O’Connor.”
Torsha had immediate success, but then life and tragedy got in the way. One of her first songs was selected as the trailer for the movie “Love Hurts,” and while she was marketing her first single, Torsha and her husband got pregnant then lost the baby during the third trimester. The experience was so traumatic that she walked away from everything and opened Snug Pet Resort in San Diego at the age of 25.
