My guest this Friday is Pierre de Villiers of South Africa. In my pre-interview with Pierre, we hit it off like two old friends that haven't seen each other in years and were trying to catch up before we had to run off to other things. Pierre is a very interesting man with a lot to share - and speaking of sharing, he hopes that you, the listener will call in to ask questions and talk with him. Be there and call in!
Here's a little about Pierre:
Pierre de Villiers became a household name in the late nineties when we still had Continuity Presenters or so-called “Talking Heads” on telly telling us which programmes to look out for on any given night of the week. Not only did he: “read the auto-cue with a lot of make-up on”, he jokes but also anchored programmes for the channel such as the SABC2’s Big Brand TV Show which aired every Friday night just before “The X-Files” for over a year. While playing the resident barman in MNet’s “Egoli” and reading the finance news on Jacaranda FM De Villiers was also chosen to do the live National Broadcaster’s New Year presenting in December 1999 - as we all faced the auspicious dawn of the new millennium...
... He explains that “Dear Pierre” is a sneak peak into the lives of complete strangers. It aims to observe, learn, enjoy and ultimately leave us feel much better our own lives compared to those of his clients. Asked if the latter don’t mind being published (names changed of course), Pierre suppresses his natural naughty smile and quickly points out how disappointed one clients was to hear he didn’t actually make it into “Dear Pierre”.
To see and read more about Pierre, please see Wednesday blog in Your Thoughts Your Reality Radio.
