Artists You Should Know in Photography - with Brooke Bryand

    in Photography

Artists You Should Know is all about helping you expand your skill set and becoming a better photographer and business person. Skip Cohen is your host and today's guest is San Francisco children's photographer, Brooke Bryand. While Brooke has an increbily diverse skill set, her passion is photographing babies.

In the wedding industry we always talk about storytelling as an important skill. Well, Brooke has taken storytelling to a new level with her portrait work with babies, utilizing macro photography to capture "those tiny toes and itty bitty lips" and doing portraits with her signature, an extremely narrow depth of field. You'll immediately pick up on her passion for the craft as she talks about the importance of building a relationship with her subjects and "the 10 second rule".

Today's podcast is all thanks to our friends at Tamron USA. They not only make great glass, but their passion for education and supporting the photographic community has set the standard for the industry.

This podcast is also part of a "daily double". Check out Brooke's guest post on the SCU blog. She's shared three outstanding tips to help you develop your own unique look and raise the bar on your images, especially when shooting babies with a macro lens.

Friday's KaibCast: Romney not a Bully, but Tamron Hall is

    in Politics Conservative

    Is Mitt Romney a bully?
Of course not, but the liberal media and Democrat leftists are going crazy over a report that Mitt Romney once cut off a fellow student's long hair while in prep school.
Pathetic, I know, but when you can't run on your record, you do whatever you can to damage your opponent.  This will be Obama's modus operandi throughout the entire election season.
Meanwhile, did you see Tim Carney on MSNBC earlier Friday? If not, you should check out this clip.  MSNBC's Tamron Hall cut him off because he questioned the media for going after the Romney bully story.
Host Josh Kaib will talk about all of this and more on a rare Friday edition of The KaibCast.

Well, he's made it well past the "starving artist" phase and today his images are sought after by collectors all over the world.

Building Your Network with Hernan Rodriguez

    in Photography

Building Your Network is all about people you should know in photography. Skip Cohen is your host. In this episode he talks with commercial photographer, Hernan Rodriguez.
Hernan is based out of Los Angeles. Just take a look at Hernan’s galleries and you’ll understand why he’s won so many awards for his images, including Aperture Awards and the coveted Black and White Spider Award.
His website talks about his work being a fusion between photography and art. That fits in perfectly with why so many photographers are referred to as artists, NOT photographers.
Check out Hernan's galleries and his guest post as he talks about one of his trademarks, working with a shallow depth of field.
This is another episode of Building Your Network, all thanks to Tamron USA and their belief in not only great glass, but great education to help you raise the bar on your skill set.
