    Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles and Hebrews

    in Spirituality

Welcome to Feast of Tabernacles also called Booths or Sukkot commemorates the 40 Years of God's provision, protection, and faithfulness to the Israelites while in the wilderness. Exodus 29:44

It is also known as the Feast of Engathering, to celebrate and thank God for the grain and wine harvests and pray for early rains for the Spring Harvest.

As we look at the feasts, we see Christ Jesus as the fulfillment and completion.

Sukkot has several symbols: including water and light. We will look at Christ as the source.

Sukkot marks the hope of when God will forever Tabernacle with man for eternity. Our earthly tabernacle will fail but we have an eternal house in the heavenly realms.

Tabernacles or Sukkot is one of the three pilgrim feasts and this year, again the feast falls during the four blood moons from 2014 to 2015. It represents a time of restored fellowship with God through Yeshua.  Yeshua, Jesus Christ is our Hight Priest and now we have access through him to the heavenly temple of God.

Moreover, not only can we come bodily into the presence of God through Christ, we are now members of the greater temple of his body. We are now part of his Sukkah. This is a time when we take a period of 7 days and rejoice before the Lord. Many at this build Sukkahs or booths, have evening meals, and read scripture pertaining to this feast. It is a joyous time full of hope as look for the Lord to come and sit on his throne and rule and reign.  It is a time when we look forward to our redemption and completion in Yeshua when he comes.

Sukkot part 2: The Tabernacle of your Body and Christ!
Tabernacles is the conclusion of the fall feasts: Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot [Tabernacles]. Tonight we discuss this in connection with the Tabernacle of the body
Tabernacles: Sukkot is the last of the three annual pilgrimage festivals:
Pesach[Passover]- corresponded to the barley harvest, combined with unleavened bread.
Shavu’ot [Pentecost]- corresponded to the wheat harvest, aka ‘feast of weeks’
Sukkot [Tabernacles]- corresponded to the fruit harvest, aka ‘feast of ingathering’
When you came, you were not to appear before the Lord empty. It is that time of the year you bring something and lay at the feet of the Prophet.
Christ our High Priest and Tabernacles
    Heb 9:11-28
    11  But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
2Co 5:1  For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Deu 16:16  Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:

    Hebrews 11:4-10 (KJV)
4  By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
5  By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
7  By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
8  By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9  By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10  For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
